We are pleased to announce that Tonganoxie USD 464 has been awarded full accreditation by the Kansas State Department of Education. This achievement is the culmination of six years of dedication to the district improvement process. To earn accreditation, districts must undergo an extensive evaluation by the state’s K-12 accrediting model, Kansas Education Systems Accreditation (KESA). This includes a thorough review of curriculum, facilities, and staff across five areas: Social-Emotional Factors Measured Locally, Kindergarten Readiness, Individual Plans of Study, High School Graduation, & Postsecondary Success. Per KESA's guidelines, "Accredited" means the district is in good standing with the State Board and has provided evidence of growth in student performance as well as conclusive evidence of an intentional, quality growth process.
“Receiving full accreditation status is a testament to the continued hard work, dedication, and support from the Board of Education, staff, students, and families who are committed to providing a high-quality education for all Tonganoxie students,” said Superintendent Loren Feldkamp.
“Receiving the ‘Accredited’ status indicates that USD 464 Tonganoxie is effectively serving the needs of its students by demonstrating a focus on the success of each student,” Dr. Randy Watson, KSDE Commissioner, wrote in the district’s accreditation letter. “On behalf of the State Board of Education, I want to thank you and the many excellent educators in the district for working to ensure that each child has a path toward success after graduation.”
The 5-year accreditation cycle begins July 1, 2023 and runs through June 30, 2028.
