We are excited to recognize Dr. Drew Cook, a 2017 graduate of Tonganoxie High School! During his time at THS, Drew was a dedicated athlete and student. He ran cross country and track all four years, qualifying for the state meet in 2014 and 2016. In his senior year, he became the Kaw Valley League Cross Country Champion, helping send his team to state, where he finished 10th overall. He also qualified for the 2017 state track meet in the 800m. Drew fondly credits Coach Tollefson and Coach Bond for their dedication to teaching students the importance of staying physically active to set oneself up for a lifetime of health and success.
Beyond athletics, Drew was an engaged student, serving as a National Honor Society member and being crowned Homecoming King his senior year. Reflecting on his high school experience, Drew recalls, “My favorite things about Tonganoxie High School were the times I spent, the conversations I had, and the jokes I shared with the people around me. I could walk down the hallway and have a laugh with just about anyone that passed by because of how friendly and caring we all were for each other. Some of my favorite memories in life came from those moments spent around a lunch table or in the gymnasium with all different assortments of friends from various backgrounds.”
After high school, Drew attended Baker University on a cross country and track & field scholarship, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. While at Baker, he also became a certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
Determined to help others through health and wellness, Drew continued his education at Cleveland University-Kansas City, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree with magna cum laude honors in Spring 2024. He now serves Lansing, Kansas, as a chiropractor at Midwest Chiropractic Center, bringing his passion for health full circle.
Drew’s journey exemplifies the true spirit of dedication and perseverance. We are proud to celebrate his achievements and look forward to his continued impact in our community!
