We had so much fun celebrating National School Breakfast Week last month! 🍳🥞🥓 #tongienation #usd464 #NSBW24

Fifth graders in Mrs. Maize’s and Ms. Smith’s classes wrapped up their Peep Adoption week with a demonstration from Dr. Sarah Maddox-Schmitt from Wolf Creek Veterinary Clinic! Students first observed Dr. Maddox perform an extraction on Cadbury the Bunny after she ate some Lego. Dr. Maddox concluded her visit by treating Peeps who wanted a vaccination of colored sugar water. (No Peeps were harmed during her demonstration.) 🐥🐥🐥 #tongienation #usd464

Mrs. Coia's students learned about three dimensional shapes by creating their own! #tongienation #usd464

Ms. Carr's fourth graders had a Mystery Reader today! Ms. Carr's fiancé came to class and read stories from The Stinky Cheese Man. 👃🧀🏃♂️ #tongienation #usd464

Mrs. Schrant's first graders have spent the last two weeks learning about different habitats and how animals have adapted to those habitats. Over the last two days, they tested bird beak adaptations using various utensils to simulate different shapes and sizes of beaks. They tested the utensil beaks on different bird “foods” and used those results to draw conclusions about what types of birds eat what foods. It was fun to watch them make predictions, work together, and use all the information to learn new things! #tongienation #usd464

Students in Ms. Kim's afternoon preschool class worked on counting to 20 by making 20 mattresses and feather beds for the Princess and the Pea! #tongienation #usd464

Mrs. Tinberg's students had so much fun with their end of unit activity after learning about Columbus and the Pilgrims. Students used their creativity to design a boat using aluminum foil, with the challenge of making it float! If the boat passed the floating test, it was put to another test to see if it could make it through a storm at sea 🌊 for 10 seconds to reach the new land (North America). #tongienation #usd464

Mrs Tinberg's class had so much fun reviewing tricky words today with a game of "Musical Tricky Words!" #happyfriday #tongienation #usd464

Some very happy first graders got to practice their reading skills in front of a captive (and sometimes sleepy) audience. Thank you to our friends from Human Animal Bond Therapy Pets of Fort Leavenworth for spending some time with us! 🐶💗 #tongienation #usd464
