Warrior Basketball was back in action last night, with the 7th grade traveling to Bonner Springs and the 8th grade hosting Bonner Springs.
The 8th grade had a strong night, securing two victories. The B-Team kicked things off with a 30-23 win, thanks to a solid performance from Hudson Myers and a spark off the bench from Bruce Moore. The momentum carried into the A-Team game, where they dominated with a 39-22 victory. Roman Holthaus was a force in the post, putting together a monster game. These wins are great signs as the team heads into the second half of the season.
For the 7th grade, the night was a mixed bag. The B-Team struggled against Clark, falling 22-30. Despite battling hard, they struggled with half-court execution and allowed too many open shots. Theyāll need to shake off the loss quickly, as theyāre back in action Saturday at Lexington Trails.
The A-Team, however, had a different story. After a slow start that saw them trailing by one at the end of the first quarter, they kicked into high gearāoutscoring the Braves by 25 points over the final three quarters. Their ball movement and offensive execution were impressive, but what stood out most was their defensive chemistry. Their help defense and teamwork fueled their transition game, leading to a dominant 53-29 win. Theyāll look to keep improving as they take on Eudora on Monday.
Fans, keep showing up and supporting the teams!
