At TMS, we choose to include! One way we choose to include is through Special Olympics Unified Soccer. Unified Soccer combines athletes with and without disabilities on the same team. By playing together, athletes and partners improve their physical fitness and skills, challenge the competition, and learn the importance of inclusion. Mrs. Spaits' and Mrs. Rowland's students had fun participating in the Unified Soccer Tournaments at Lawrence High School and Tonganoxie High School, hosted by Coach Ast. #tongienation #usd464

Students in Mrs. Ketchum's 7th grade science class dissected frogs as a way to bridge their study of body systems with their final unit on ecology. They've been looking forward to this lab all year; it provided the unique and memorable opportunity to examine how internal systems function and connect, deepening their understanding of how the body works. 🐸🐸🐸 #tongienation #usd464

Tonganoxie Middle School had an awesome start to our track & field season on Thursday! We want to give a couple of specific shout-outs for some record-breaking performances. Roman Holthaus set a new 8th grade boys record in the 100m Hurdles, with a time of 14.25 seconds. Roman also set a new High Jump record. The previous record was 5'9", and Roman had a monster leap of 6'1"!! We also have a new 7th grade girls 4x100m Relay record, with a time of 56.41, set by Avery Brune, Leighton Spudic, Emma Smith, and Blainey Woods! These girls were blazing fast!
